I've lost the book I borrowed in my browser! What do I do?

Answer

If you are using the Overdrive Read function to read Overdrive eBooks in your browser, it's easy to return to them. There are two different methods to returning to your eBook:

  1. You can log in to OverDrive using your library card number and PIN. Then, access your bookshelf by selecting Account.  The eBooks you have checked out will be listed, each with the option to Read (in your browser). Once you have the eBook loaded in your browser, you can use the bookmarks or favorites option of your browser to get back to it without logging in to OverDrive or using an active internet connection.
  2. You can log in to your library account. Your eBooks will be available via the My ebooks link on the left from your account information screen. Next to the title you want, select OverDrive Read from the Get eBook button. Once you have the eBook loaded in your browser, you can use the bookmarks or favorites option of your browser to get back to it without logging in to OverDrive or using an active internet connection.

If you are reading an E Book Central item in your browser, simply search for the book in the catalog again, and choose Access eBook to return to reading it.
