I have an iPad 1 that cannot be upgraded to iOS 6, which is required for the Overdrive app. What can I do?

Although you are not able to download the Overdrive app, you can still use Overdrive through your iPad browser. In order to do this, you must checkout books that are available in the Overdrive Read or Overdrive Listen format. When you check them out, you won't need any additional apps, just your browser. After checking them out, begin to read or listen to them.
Use the bookmark feature in Safari to access your eBooks in the Overdrive Read format when you are not connected to WiFi. Overdrive Listen formatted eAudiobooks require a constant internet connection to stream audio.
