Q. How do I increase volume on an audiobook?
How to change the volume of an audiobook you are listening to depends on the device/application you are using. Here is a short list covering some possibilities:
- Windows and Mac computers should have a speaker icon in the taskbar (next to the clock) that you can click on to get a slider to adjust the volume.
- Most tablets/smartphones/mp3 players should have a dedicated volume button somewhere on the device. If it does not, consult the manual or device manufacturer for how to adjust the volume.
Since volume of sound is usually dependent on the device and not what you are listening to, you will most likely have work with the device.
If the volume of a particular audiobook is significantly quieter than everything else you listen to on that device, it may be a problem with how the audiobook was recorded. In that case, you would have to contact support for the service you downloaded the audiobook from. Use links to OverDrive and RBdigital support to report this issue.
