I found an item that I paid for after I thought I lost it. Can I get a refund?

Answer

If the item is in good condition, was for at least $5.00, and was paid for within the last 60 days, we can issue a refund. Bring the item with your receipt to the nearest library.  Let the staff know that you paid for the item and would like a refund.

There are a number of steps in the refund process.  A check will be mailed to you in 10 to 12 weeks.

Payment for donated materials, missing media, collection agency fees, and damage charges are ineligible for refunds.

  1. Respectfully, requesting that this be updated to align with the updated systems. I paid for a book online through my account, and did not receive an emailed receipt. When I inquired about a refund, I was told to bring in the receipt. I would think the library system would be able to verify payment on my account without a receipt or at least provide and accept an electronic receipt for refunds. Thank you.
