Q. What does it mean to freeze my hold? How can I freeze my holds?
Freezing a requested item allows you to keep your place in line, and move up in the hold queue as other holds ahead of you are fulfilled, but when you are next to receive the our system will skip you and move to the next person in the queue.
Note: You cannot freeze a hold on an item whose status is "LOOK ON SHELF" or holds that are in transit for or awaiting pickup by you.
Freeze your holds by following these steps:
1. Log in to your library account with your card number and PIN
2. Click on the link that shows how many holds you have
3. For each hold you want to freeze, select the "Freeze" check box in the right-hand column
4. Click "Update List"
5. Click "Yes"
Your selected holds are now frozen. Remember to log out of your account.
Reactivate your holds by following these same steps to un-check the boxes. Also you cannot re-freeze holds that have been frozen for longer than a year.
